It’s time to get “Krafty”…

Hi Crafty Friends!

I am excited to be hopping along this month with our Friends of Unity once again with a fun new theme for you! This month we are sharing our love of neutrals with a Kraft,Black and White theme! I hope you will find lots of INKspiration here as well as from all of our Friends of Unity!

Before I show you the projects I made I first want to thank everyone who visited last month and left such sweet feedback! I appreciate that you stopped by my page and was so kind enough to comment! Now for my first project using just Kraft and White :

Insightful Meadows/Feel your Soul

For this card I started off with a white cardstock base. All of my cardstock bases are Hammermill 110# from Amazon. I then cut my Kraft colored cardstock from The Cardstock Warehouse 1/4 inch smaller than my base. Using one of the beautiful stems from the Insightful Meadow kit, I then stamped the image using the Kraft colored inkpad from Gina K inks.

The sentiment is from the Feel Your Soul kit. I stamped the sentiment first in Hero Arts white Unicorn ink and then heat embossed using a fine white detailing embossing powder

Next I just added some white Nuvo drops for accent. This really was a super simple card to put together using limited supplies. I love super simple cards!

For my next project I used a black and Kraft theme. Kraft cardstock photographs SO weird even with proper lighting.. the color is more like a brown paper bag in real life.

Include yourself in beauty/So Very Grateful

For this card I started off with a Kraft colored cardstock base from The Cardstock Warehouse. I used the new scalloped & rectangle nesting die set from Unity which includes a gorgeous scalloped rectangle and a stitched rectangle which nests perfectly with each other. As you can see here I used the larger stitched rectangle to cut out the base to do my stamping and then the coordinating scallop die to cut out my black mat.

Once I cut out the Kraft cardstock I used my Misti and stamped the floral image from the “Include Yourself in Beauty “ kit a few times. Since the Kraft cardstock has a slightly different texture than the normal smooth cardstock I use, I had to stamp it a few times to get the image perfectly inked. The Misty comes in SO handy for this. After the ink was dry I added a few dots using a Signo white gel pen and added some gold splatters using gold watercolor pans and a fan brush. It’s really hard to see in the picture. It appears more “watermarked” but in real life it’s gold splatters and SO pretty!

I heat embossed the sentiment from the “So Very Grateful” kit in gold embossing powder onto thick velum. I tore the sentiment piece as shown and wrapped it around my stamped Kraft cardstock and then using Tombow liquid glue, I glued this to my scalloped mat.

Using foam adhesive I attached my completed stamped image to my Kraft cardstock to complete the card.

For my next card I again used the kraft and black theme but added a lot more white accents as you can see:

Insightful Meadows/

For this card I again used the Insightful Meadows stamp kit which is really one of my absolute FAVORITES. I just love the different stems in the kit. I used two different one’s for this card and love how it turned out

I started off with a black cardstock base and trimmed a Kraft colored mat 1/4 inch smaller. All the cardstock I used for this card is from the Cardstock Warehouse. I absolutely LOVE their cardstock and the Sirio black is THE blackest black cardstock I have seen! I then used the smaller stitched rectangle from the Scalloped & Rectangle nesting dies to cut out the Kraft mat that I used to stamp my images.

After stamping the images using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink I heat set the ink with a heating tool and used my Signo white gel pen to add accents. I cut the black mat 1/8 inch larger than my stamped image and glued this together.

Using a random sentiment “Smile” that I received on a past grab bag, I heat embossed the word using white Unicorn pigment ink and detailed white embossing powder onto a piece of scrap black cardstock.

The stamped image was adhered to the card using double sided foam tape and the sentiment was popped up onto the card, as shown, using a foam adhesive dot.

I really love the way this card turned out!

For my final card I used all three neutral colors together! Kraft, black and white! I obviously saved my favorite card for last!

Give thanks

For this project I started with a cardstock base using Kraft cardstock from The Cardstock Warehouse. I used the smaller rectangle stitched die from the scalloped & rectangle die set to create the panel I stamped on. The white cardstock I use is Hammermill cardstock 80# from Amazon. It works perfectly even with Copic Markers!

I randomly stamped the leaves from the “Give Thanks” kit in three different shades of green ins from Gina K. After stamping the entire image I then used a blending brush around the sides. The black cardstock mat was cut 1/8 inch larger than my stamped image and glued together using Tombow liquid glue.

I then stamped the sentiment “happy” three times in black ink onto white cardstock and used my scalloped nesting square dies from Stampin’ Up! to gut them out. I also shaded the sides with a blending brush for more depth.

Using my gold watercolor pan and a fan brush I added some splatters of gold to the stamped image and the sentiment.

The completed image was attached to my card base using double sided foam adhesive and a black/white gingham ribbon was wrapped around for accent. I tucked the sentiment, as shown, under the ribbon slightly and attached to the stamped image using foam adhesive.

I really enjoyed this monthly theme! I rarely have pulled out my Kraft cardstock in the past but I think I will find myself doing so more often! Which card did you like the best?
