September 2022 Unity Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends!

Is it really September? It can’t be! I am clearly not ready to let the summer go yet! I am excited, however, to be hopping along with my Friends of Unity this month with our Coffee, Tea and Cocoa themed blog hop!

Unity Stamp Company has no shortage of coffee/tea/cocoa inspired rubber stamps that’s for sure! It was hard to pick out kits to create with as there’s so many that are my absolute favorites. I managed to pick three for this month and am excited to share them with you!

A few things before we get started. Unity Stamp Company does not sponsor our Blog Hop although they support us ! With that in mind, should any of our gracious Friends of Unity participate in give-a-ways, please know that the prize packages come from our own personal stash of goodies! We truly appreciate all the love and support that you give us each month! I love seeing all the comments each month in how you’ve been inspired to create something that you’ve seen! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and compliments, it’s greatly appreciated! Please be patient when commenting on my personal blog! I have comment moderation on and your comments will show once they’re approved!

Thank you SO much for joining us today! Grab a cuppa your favorite beverage and let’s get inky!

For my first project I used the adorable kit called : Snowman to go!

I started off with a blue cardstock base and cut my pretty patterned paper 1/4 inch smaller to use as my mat. I also used a scrap piece of coordinating snowflake patterned paper cut 1 inch wide and glued this to the mat for some contrast. The paper has hues of purple and blues which are so pretty together.

Using coordinating oval dies, I cut out a large oval from white cardstock and used a smaller coordinating oval die to cut out a blue oval. I thought it looked a bit too “flat” so I added some white ink blending to the blue oval to soften it up a bit. I glued these two ovals together as shown.

I stamped the image onto white cardstock and after using the Scan & Cut to cut out the image I brought it to life using alcohol markers. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine black ink and matted the strip onto a scrap of the blue cardstock. I always save my scraps for sentiment strips!

Gorgeous gold and white twin was wrapped around the base of my card and once tied, I popped the snowman image onto the card using foam adhesive. The sentiment strip as adhered with foam adhesive as well. It’s hard to see in the picture but three clear rhinestones were glued onto the image as well to give it a bit of sparkle.

This was a super easy and quick card to put together.

For my next card I used the Kit called: ” Warm Fall Hugs”

For this card I started off with a green cardstock base and cut a piece of white cardstock 1/4 inch smaller to use as a mat.

Using a square stitched die, I then cut out a piece of white cardstock and created a green mat for the rectangle by cutting the cardstock 1/4 inch larger.

The image was stamped onto white cardstock and after being cut out using my Scan & Cut, I used alcohol markers to color the image.

Using a blending brush and ink from Gina K’s collection I added some shading onto the square background before gluing on my image as shown

I found some coordinating patterned paper and ran the paper through my Big Shot using a scallop die. I glued the patterned paper onto my cardstock (as shown) and then adhered my image using adhesive foam tape.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine black in in the lower corner and a few gems were added for sparkle

This was another quick and easy card to put together!

My last card for today features the gorgeous kit called : “Pure and Simple

For this card I started off with a white cardstock base and cut a mat using a scalloped rectangle die from another piece of white cardstock. I absolutely LOVE this plaid patterned paper however it’s a bit “off color” in the photo for some reason but the “red” is more fuchsia like the gals’ scarf. I’m not sure why it photographed more red toned but light can be finicky. Anywho, I cut the plaid paper so it would fit inside my scalloped rectangle.

I stamped the gal onto white cardstock and after using my Scan & Cut to remove the image, I brought her to life with alcohol markers. This is one of my favorite stamp kits. The image has such a warm and cozy feel.

Using a stitched rectangle die, I cut another mat from white cardstock and glued my colored image to the mat. I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine black ink and matted this to a coordinating piece of pink cardstock.

Once my image was glued to the card I used foam adhesive to adhere the sentiment.

I added a few pink rhinestones and some twine for accent.

This is may final quick and simple card that I created to share with you for this month’s hop! I hope you found some INKspiration to make a few coffee/tea/cocoa themed cards of your own.

As mentioned at the beginning, I am not ready to put down my iced coffee! But before we know it, the chill of fall will be closing in on us. I know those pumpkin-spice fans are just itching to get their first cup of the season. I personally, am NOT a fan of pumpkin spice coffee. I’m more of a caramel vanilla gal. What’s your fall beverage of choice?

Before you go, I hope you will take a second to provide some feedback or just say hello! If you landed here first, please be sure to go back to visit our beautiful friend : Gaylynn

If you’re ready to move along, up next is the talented : Colleen!

Thank you for stopping by! If you aren’t already following me on Facebook or Instagram, I hope you’ll consider following me there for more weekly inkpsiration!

Have an INKredible day!

  2. Amazing cards! I love how each one has a beautiful color choice. The snowflake card is so pretty with the paper and the gold twine. The leaf card is awesome with the large scallop edge. And the girl holding the coffee cup card is super pretty and I love all the layers.

  7. What a great assortment of cards, and that last one is colored beautifully! I’m never confident when it comes to coloring people so especially admire it when I see something like this.

  8. I like all three of your cards. I like your use of dies to add layers to your cards. We have similar styles so that may be why I like these so much.
